Fired Up Friday

Fired Up Friday is a new feature I'm starting on my blog. Every Friday I'll blog about things that inspire me, whether it's a photo, line from a poem, song lyric, or just a random thought. I've been feeling kind of down lately (just worn out from work/housework stuff I think) and I thought it would be good to try and think of things that make me happy and share them with others in the hopes of inspiring them as well. I'm not going to post much on WHY that particular thing inspires me. Sometimes I think that when you're inspired by something you either don't know why, or it simply needs no explanation. So here is what is inspiring me this week (in no particular order):

Smell of coffee brewing first thing in the morning

Rain

Cemeteries

Fall Leaves

The Fray

What inspires you? Do you know something that would maybe inspire others? Discuss in the comments. Happy Friday, everyone!

  1. I love this post!! The Fray is one of my favorite bands so I totally agree with you there, and oddly enough I am currently doing a project on gravestone tombs and my thesis is on grave markings exactly like the one you have in this pic!! Talk about coincidence!! I love this meme

  2. I *love* The Fray. I have to listen to them at least once a day. And I have this weird fascination with cemeteries, especially old ones that seem to be run down and lost to time.

  3. This is really corny but my engagement ring inspires me now. It reminds me that I have a lot of work to do, but it also reminds me that everything on October 8 is going to be amazing!

  5. JoAnna- not corny at all! I remember my ring inspiring me too. :)

Cynthia- I *almost* put bookstores on today's list, but decided to save it for another time. Love craft stores, too!

  6. What inspires me is people who go for their dream and get it. OMG that sounds soooooo corny. I also get inspired by fairy tales and sometimes things people say in real life. And ideas in my head that simmer for a freakin' long time. Haha.

  7. I saw The Fray when they were in town last Friday. They were great live! My husband's family are all buried in an old Indian cemetery in OK. Their tombstones are amazing and gorgeous. I. Do. Not. Like. Coffee. *lol*

  8. Great idea for a post! I love old cemeteries and fall leaves too. I find spring flowers inspiring. After dark grey winters, those bursts of color and sunshine always make me feel hopeful and excited to get out and play in the garden.

  9. I love the smell of coffee, but my tongue tells me it tastes like dirt...

I also enjoy fall leaves... I wish more of them turned colors down here.

Music inspires me a lot. Especially movie scores!

  10. I love this post! I'm behind. LOL I'm inspired by bookstores, old books, the rain, fall leaves and the cool fall air that come with it (if you live up North), my kids' and their sweet laughter.
