Welcome to the family!

I have owned my current laptop for 6 years. It's a BEAST. It's huge, heavy, and noisy. I can't load a site that's image heavy without the fans coming on full speed. I felt like it was going to explode. I've been wanting a new laptop for a few years, but it worked and I didn't want to spend the money on a new one. We happened to get a larger income tax return than we were expecting, so The Husband let me upgrade my laptop. (Sorry for the terrible picture. Ha!)

There she is! My new baby! Our first computer was a Mac (laaaaate '80s.. shhh), but other than that I don't know much about them. I was a staff editor on my college paper and we had to use iMacs and I hated them. (Or so I assumed, but I think it was the software we had to use I didn't like.) I played around with tons of different brands and models, but ultimately decided to make the switch from PC to Mac. I asked a ton of people who had made the switch and I didn't find one person who was unhappy with their decision. So far (I mean this is only day one... but...) I LOVE IT. For the most part it's pretty intuitive, which was my main concern. We'll see how the next few days and weeks go!

That leaves me with the question to ask YOU: Mac or PC? Why? What do you/don't you like about Mac or PC?

  1. I'm a PC, but I probably should be a mac.
My comp right now is just a year old and already we've had to replace the battery and the power cord, and now the battery's out again!! Uggghh
But seriously, there is probably no greater feeling than having a brand new compter!! :D

  3. Lucky girl!! I just ran and told hubs this idea--we haven't done our taxes yet--and he LAUGHED at me. Looks like I'll be using this old Dell until it starts coughing up blood.

  4. My first big purchase was an iBook in college. (Pretty sure they don't make those anymore!) But I LOVED it. Both my roommates had iBooks too and we were pretty sure we were the epitome of cool. :)

  5. Thanks guys! I'm still in the "I don't want to leave its side" phase. Wonder when the new will wear off?

Kristin- sorry your hubby laughed at you! :( I've been bugging mine for over a year. Maybe you should start hounding him. ;)
